The Iowa Derecho Storm Resource Center, the headquarters of a community nonprofit also known as Together We Achieve is setting a goal to give away 12, boxes of free food in The Resource Center opened and sprung into action after the derecho as a centralized stop for those in need of resources, supplies, food, and more after the August 10 storm, and, after moving multiple times, is in its permanent location, at 27th Ave. CBS2 said the organization and volunteers were doing their first drive-through giveaway at Hawkeye Downs on Sunday and not a moment too soon for those in need after the winter weather storm of Saturday. The specifics of the next giveaway are still unknown, but Raymond Siddell, the President of Together We Achieve said its likely to happen at the end of February.
